From August 2nd to August 6th, the KUGB held their annual summer camp at
Lancaster University. The course was, as always, a fantastic opportunity to train under six of the very best world respected
karateka:
Sensei Andy Sherry 8th Dan Sensei Terry O'Neill 7th Dan Sensei Bob Poynton 7th Dan Sensei Bob Rhodes 7th Dan Sensei Billy Higgins 7th Dan Sensei Frank Brennan 7th Dan
A very impressive
19 GKA students attended the course.
Congratulations to Abdurahman Khan for passing his Kyu grading at the end
of the course. And also to Glen Fletcher for passing his assistant instructors qualification.

GKA Course & Grading with Sensei Frank Brennan 7th Dan
On Saturday June 12th, the GKA held their second course and grading of the year
with Sensei Frank Brennan 7th Dan in Bishopbriggs Leisure Drome. The day proved a success with 34 GKA students passing their
grading examinations.

On Saturday 8th May 2010, a small group from the GKA attended a special
training course in Aberdeen with the world renowned karate master - Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th dan and his son Nobuaki
Kanazawa 6th Dan of the SKIF. This was a very rare and fantastic oportunity to train with such a highly respected Japanese
Instructor on his last ever visit to Scotland.
New Equipment Donated to the GKA
A very special thank you to
the parents of Muhammad Khan for very kindly donating 12 pairs of focus mitts to the GKA. This new equipment will without
a doubt be a valued piece of kit and hopefully enhance the standard even further at our club.
