GKA Demonstration
On
Friday 2nd December, the GKA were invited by the Lenzie Scouts to put on a short Karate demonstration. This was a really nice opportunity for
us to show various aspects of Karate to a very enthused and disciplined group of youngsters.
The demonstration
team were: Paul Monigatti, Ben Fail, James McGreechin, Chantelle Allan, Matthew Young, Glen Fletcher, Matthew Fletcher and
Rhiannan Young (pictured back row).
SKA GRAND PRIX – FINAL
On Saturday November 26th, The GKA sent a small squad over to Irvine to attend
the final SKA Grand prix competition of the year.
The squad consisted of: Holly Sherwood,
Rhiannan Young, Aydon Rossi, Chantelle Allan, Matthew Fletcher, Anne Kelly and Ben Fail.
There were some very impressive
performances from our entire club, most notably from Chantelle Allan who scored with a cracking jodan Mawashi Geri against
her very tall and at times over powering opponent. Then of course Aydon Rossi who went through his first two rounds very comfortably
scoring with a Jodan Mawashi Geri in each, securing him a place in the final of which he narrowly
missed out against a very tough opponent.
